We know that our company is a very small drop in a large ocean, but the Maverick Team still believes that it needs to take responsibility for its own emmission and it is important to make an effort to compensate Earth for the many beauty it gives us, otherwise it will hit back at humanity hard and quick.
This is why as a first step we looked for solutions that would help us balance our CO2 output, and so far the best mode we discovered was offsetting it through certified projects. Doing this has actually been more simple than we thought initially. It takes just a few minutes on the website to find out your total emissions with a carbon footprint calculator and after getting your results you can buy the necessary CO2 offset quota right there at an affordable rate.
We have found several trustworthy organizations for this like Stand For Trees, Carbonfootprint.com, CoolEffect, ClimatePartner and even the UN has many interesting programs.
We have chosen the Americas Portfolio of Carbonfootprint.com as the first project to support in the second half of 2019. In 2024 we offset the whole year emission through a United NationsRenewable energy generation project in India.
Boutique Hostel in downtown Budapest
The Maverick Urban Lodge is the youngest Maverick in the downtown of Budapest. We have tried to improve our design hostel concept further with large, cozy and cool common areas and rooftop terrace and with well-equipped bedrooms where our guests can have a very good rest. Dorm beds feature dual outlets, curtains, and reading lamps to provide privacy and comfort. The private rooms feature unique designs and atmosphere, but even more importantly their own en-suite bathrooms: practically a nice hotel room, just better vibes. We are located close to the world renowned Great Market Hall, and major transportation hubs are only 5 minutes away on foot. The neighborhood offers a great variety of restaurants, pubs, services, and grocery shopping.
The carbon footprint of the Maverick Group –and with that your stay at Maverick– is now covered for 2024 as we have compensated our CO2 emissions through an offset project on United Nations Carbon Offset Platform. Check in between 3 PM and midnight . If you do not arrive between those hours, please contact us ahead of time. Check out is 11 AM. By that time, please empty the locker and leave the bed or private room. We can store your luggage longer if needed. Late check out is possible until 1 PM, please let us know at least 1 day prior to your departure if you would like to have. // Cancellation policy: Cancellation 2 days prior to arrival is free. The full stay will be charged in case of late cancellation, if it is requested in less than 48 hours before arrival, or in case of no-show. // Smoking is not allowed on the hostel’s premises nor in the staircase. You can be fined for 200 Euros for breaking this rule. // Alcohol consumption is allowed till 11 PM. // Payment is in cash or card upon arrival in EUR or in HUF (Hungarian forints) based on CIB Bank Euro daily buying exchange rate. // The accommodation for kids up to 13 years old is free of charge in an existing bed. In case of asking for another extra bed, the guest has to pay 7 euro extra per day. The baby cot up to two years old can be provided for free. // Our property only accepts guests with a valid online reservation made in advance.
