Spring has finally arrived in Budapest.  From the beginning of this great season theaters, circuses, gyms, zoos, spas and swimming pools, sports venues and hotels, restaurants and bars will have a great atmosphere again.

In this article we collected the best outdoor bars & restaurants in Budapest.

360 bar

The highest rooftop in Budapest with a 360 degree view onto the city. Even just for a cocktail after work or a nice dinner,this bar is a great choice.

Local tip: Some nights they have live music, make sure you check their event calendar not to miss it.

Kabin

Located on the banks of the Danube, Kabin provides relaxation, closeness to nature and big city entertainment at the same time. You can find there families with children playing at the Danube, dogs running around, couples watching the sunset from hammocks and friends having a drink or two.

It’s located at Népsziget, which is an island only half an hour from the center of Budapest. They offer affordable drinks and street food as well, so get your friends and family and spend a sunny afternoon there. Watch out because you might find it close before the spring / summer season.

Local tip:Best to arrive with a bike. Even if you come from Buda or Pest, there’s a bike route all the way with a great view of the city.

Kőleves

In the famous Kazinczy street, only a few steps away from Maverick City Lodge, can you find this colourful oasis. With being the garden of a great restaurant they offer meals for a nice dinner and a cheaper lunch menu as well. 

At night it's more like a ruin bar, but the vibe is more chill than in the neighbouring Szimpla. So if you plan on going out and actualing hearing your friends while enjoying a vodka soda, this is your place.

Local tip:
They have a lunch menu every weekday from 12:00 to 15:00. Two courses for 2700 HUF, three courses for 3500 HUF. When? Monday: closed Tuesday, Wednesday, Sunday: 12:00 - 22:00 Thursday, Friday, Saturday: 12:00 - 23:00

Areas with great bars and restaurants

Mikszáth square & Madách Square

Both squares are the typical hipster places, where everyone stands with a drink and cigarettes in front of the bars, being one mass crowd.  If you desire a good coffee my little melbourne and Lumen are your places. After sunset Telep, and Központ  are where the cool kids go.

Bálna

A drink after work or a date? The area of the whale-looking exhibition center is full of options to go. It's right next to the Danube, having a great view on Gellért hill and the bridges. The most popular places are Esetleg bistro, Balna terasz and Pavilon.
