Best outdoor markets in Budapest 2024 | Flowers, jams and other goods
The sun is shining, birds are singing, sneakers are back and Budapest always has something to offer. If you know where and when to look, there are many places to find hungarian antiques, home grown veggies or have some local pastry. In this article we collected our favourite outdoor markets.
Czakó piac
A producers market in Tabán's oldest house, Czakó Garden. They offer vegetables, fruits, cheeses, meats, flowers, wild mushrooms and other specialties. During the market, the chef of Czakó Restaurant prepares dishes made from farm delicacies, which you can take home. A little Provence feeling in Buda.
When: Saturdays from 8 am to 1 pm

Komjádi Piac
A small farmers market front of Császár- Komjádi Sports Pool. It’s a real local’s market, where you can get seasonal fruits, vegetables, flowers and sausages. They only have a few tables, but if you are interested in a typical hungarian market with grandmas picking out the spring flowers for their balconies, this is your place. Try to arrive early if you don’t want to miss all the good merchandise.

Pancs
A community market in the yard of Élesztőház beer garden. They bring together Hungarian primary producers who value harmony with nature. They offer seasonal vegetables-fruits, cheeses, homemade hams and salamis, baked goods, syrups, jams, juices, wines.
Every month they invite a guest host from the world of gastronomy for a community cooking, the ingredients of which are sourced from local producers.
When: Every Sunday from 9 am to 2 pm

Budai Zsibvásár
The place for treasure hunters. The Budaörs flower market turns into a flea market every weekend and welcomes the wandering with open arms. They offer used books, antiques, clothes and rarities. Be aware that this market is a piece of history and some sellers are very proud of their collection so you might have to bargain for some pieces.
When: Saturday and Sunday from 7 am to 2 pm
